Suspension legend Dave Currutti takes a deep look at the new Manitou Dorado 37mm in this great informational video. Starting with a quick history on the fork, Dave dives into the new Dorado and shows the differences between the former 36mm fork and the new 37mm. Sit back, relax, and learn all about the new Dorado.
Pau Menoyo dominates 1st Men Junior UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup Hayes Disc Brakes are officially back to UCI Downhill World Cup and we could not have asked for a better comeback! The year started with a lot of uncertainties about how and if racing will be possible but last weekend the first long-awaited 1st UCI Downhill World Cup took place in Leogang, Austria, and Hayes Disc Brakes supported Commencal21 team rider Pau Menoyo; who took home the win in the Men’s Junior category. Under ever-changing weather conditions – changing from super wet/rainy conditions, to sunny and back again to rain, and after a crash during his qualifying run, Pau did an incredible job hammering down the track coming in 1st. Â

“The feeling was really good during the whole week, even with Pau's crash in Qualis. It was a track we were being able to count on good brakes with good braking power, this was very important!” CHARLIE JULIA BARTHE - TEAM MANAGER COMMENCAL 21 - by MTB SquadÂ

After coming in 10th during his qualifying run Pau’s teammate Angel Suarez had a crash during his Men's Elite final run and came in 27th. Huge congratulations to Pau and the whole Commencal21 team for an outstandingly good start to the 2021 race season. Next to come is the UCI Downhill World Cup in Lets Gets, France (July 3 – 4).
We wanted to create a state-of-the-art Enduro bike that combines understatement with shiny glamorous silver details. Partnering with the folks at Nukeproof and Hotlines we combined a Mega 290 alloy frame with top-tier parts from Manitou, Hayes Brakes, SUNringle and ProTaper MTB, giving it to the build specialist at Dream Build – and there you go, a blacked out Enduro machine came to life!Â

Enjoy the build video and we hope it inspires you to build your own bike! Â
Our limited-edition Hayes T2 follows the Dominion family philosophy of a low-effort system with predictable, progressive ramp-up and a crisp bite point. This is achieved in part by a combination of an added glide ring on the master cylinder piston and sealed ball bearings at the lever blade pivot to reduce overall friction and provide a featherlight lever feel. To keep the feel consistent no matter the lever reach we have developed our Stable Rate Linkage (SRL) that delivers a consistent lever ratio regardless of lever position. Featuring a Reynolds designed and in-house produced carbon-fiber lever, titanium hardware, composite reservoir cover, pads with aluminum backing plates, and precise weight-reducing machining, the T2 is 50g lighter per brake (254g) than the Dominion A2.
You may be thinking, well does it still feel like a Dominion with all these weight savings? Read what the Design & Innovation Award jury had to say about it:
"Hayes have managed to create a particularly lightweight braking system with the Dominion T2 without compromising on performance. Weight savings on critical parts often lead to losses in functionality – not so with the Hayes Dominion T2. The two-piston brake convinces with plenty of power for MTB use, yet is light enough to be of interest for weight weenie mountain bikes. On top of that, it offers a sensitive response and progressive power delivery, meaning you need little effort to produce massive braking power. The brake remains quiet in all conditions and the Crosshair alignment system is designed to effectively prevent rubbing pads. Despite its low weight, the brake still features Hayes’ innovative Dual Port system for easy bleeding. The Hayes Dominion T2 convinced the award jury with its performance and good reliability."

About the Award The Design & Innovation Award is both a seal of approval and the benchmark achievement for the bike industry’s highest-performing products. The Design & Innovation Award is more than just a title-giver or a round of applause for brands. It’s the definitive award that decisively tests products in the real world, assessing them in their entirety and reaching considered verdicts. This year once again saw select international journalists, professional test riders, and industry experts invest more than 6,000 hours of their time to partake in the DI.A process.
We don't mind working hard on the uphill because we definitely like to party full gas on the downhill. Our team of engineers was challenged to take some of the work out of the ride on the way up and enable the rider to enjoy the party all the way down. And we did just that!
Enduro riding continues to evolve; it is becoming even more aggressive on more challenging terrain with riders demanding more from their bike’s performance. At the same time, riders expect to be able to pedal their bikes uphill with ease and efficiency.
We created the Mezzer with a singular purpose: Win. We set aggressive targets in performance, weight and stiffness. Targets that we knew were going to be very difficult to hit but it was all or nothing. All aspects from the shaping of the dropout, geometry of the reverse arch, cable routing, damper tolerances, seal material etc. were strategically engineered. Nothing was assumed.
On the performance side we tapped into our wealth of suspension data, while developing Mattoc Pro. To ensure we achieved the lowest friction possible, we partnered with SKF on proprietary materials for the wiper seals, as well as specifying incredibly tight tolerances on the internal glide rings. Every single part was engineered to provide maximum benefit.
A rear shock worthy of world-class performance. Designed in conjunction with the Mezzer fork for hard charging applications, like Enduro and All Mountain. Proven reliability with a bevy of adjustments that enables the most technical riders to find his/her sweet spot.
World-class riders require world class-wheels. The all new DĂĽroc SD37 Pro and 35 Pro wheels utilize our proven rims mated to our all-new Super Bubba hub via Wheelsmith butted straight pull spokes. These wheels were designed to handle the gnarliest descents you can find at the greatest velocity you can muster.
Dominion’s master cylinder is factory tuned for the shortest dead stroke possible and a crisp bite point. The Dominion A4 caliper utilizes four pistons in the most structurally rigid design possible. It features a cold-forged caliper and KingPin structural pad retention bolt that increases stiffness.
A two-piston version of the venerable Dominion A4. The A2 is aimed at the discerning rider looking for Dominion feel in a two-piston package.
The master cylinder was designed to work with 2 or 4 piston calipers, delivering maximum performance and consistent lever feel in either setup.
With a motorsports-inspired Two-Stroke dual port bleed system, industry leading DOT 5.1 fluid and Kevlar hose, the hydraulic system is engineered for ultimate performance across all temperatures and easy maintenance.
Dominion A2 and A4 feature the proprietary QuickBite² system for fast and consistent burnish, coupled with our D-Series rotor to manage the heat with less braking noise.
Also available with SFL ergonomically designed for smaller hands.
To finish out the ProTaper MTB cockpit, all new ProTaper grips featuring the PT logo pattern. Not too thick, not too thin and the right durometer to tack up when you need it to. Like to fly under the radar? All ProTaper MTB offerings are now in a monochrome “Stealth” color way.
